Biography

Johnny Mahon grew up on Long Island, New York surrounded by community and warmth, and he responded by building a sonic world defined by their absence.

In that world lives the dark, deliberate and unflinching sounds of Drum & Bass and UK Garage - genres that have never fully taken hold in the US. Unbothered by their relative obscurity, maybe even galvanized, his mission is to push them further, all while resisting pressure to make them more broadly appealing.

Evidence of this movement includes supporting sets for the likes of Chase & Status, Alix Perez, Bou, Dimension, Camo & Krooked, Basstripper, his debut festival appearance at Elements Festival, as well as releases on Southpoint, Driven AM, Lizplay Records, and a feature on UKF's YouTube channel.
